Skin Moisturizers
There are so many different types of skin moisturizers that sometimes we find ourselves wondering which ones we should use and what difference does it make if someone prefers the cheap scented lotion at the local discount store to the more expensive creams that you buy in department store. The fact is that it doesn’t really make that much of a difference unless you’re trying to use the moisturizer for a specific purpose. For example, you would not want to use a moisturizer that is heavily scented and relies on oils for those problem areas on your face as it could cause an outbreak of blackheads or pimples.
Likewise, there are moisturizers which are specifically designed to work on the toughened skin of your feet, and you would not want to use those heavily penetrating oils on sensitive skin around your waist or chest as this could also leave behind a greasy feeling and cause some potential problems with outbreaks. The best rule of thumb if you are looking for a lotion that will work all over your body is to search for something that is unscented to a large degree and is not very heavy on the oils or cream.
Many people also use facial moisturizers as a way of removing stubborn make up. If you want to do this then you should look for a heavier skin cream. This is because the oils in the heavier facial creams are designed to seep in and break up the makeup, making it easier to remove and leaving your skin feeling fresh. However, you do not want to leave these kinds of creams on your face for a long time, so the best thing to do is to put some on your problem areas, rub it in, and then remove it with a cotton ball. Doing this will not only wipe off the residual make up, but will also help to pull off any excess oils from the cream that did not soak into the skin.
Some people might find that they have skin patches so tough that no moisturizer seems to help clear up the problem areas. If this is occurring with you then you might need to seek the advice of a physician. This is because sometimes you might need the power of a prescription lotion or cream to make sure that the dry skin gets cleared up, and there are a reason of different medical problems that could be the underlying cause of the dry and irritated skin section, so it’s good to have your doctor check it out.
Generally speaking, using a moisturizer is a must do for anyone who wants to maintain healthy skin and reduce the risk of premature wrinkles, age spots, or even stretch marks from developing. Just be sure that you double check the moisturizer you are using to make sure that it will work for the purpose you need it for. Remember, if you have any questions about the product you can always look directly on the label or ask for assistance.
